Holistic Fertility Treatment - Bringing Mind & Body Together for ConceptionOne of the most common worries for people who are trying to conceive is whether their worry itself is standing in the way. The question -- Can stress play a part in infertility? The answer -- Quite possibly! Now, Fertility Centers of Illinois (FCI) is expanding its services by offering a mind/body program in partnership with Pulling Down the MoonŽ, a holistic treatment center. Their goal is to help patients improve their overall physical and mental condition, which can have a positive impact on fertility treatment. The various modalities being made available are yoga, meditation, massage therapy, and acupuncture, all fine-tuned especially for people who are trying to get pregnant. "These techniques (yoga and meditation) could aid in coping with stress and reaching a calmer level of existence, both to improve normal reproductive function, and for an overall better state of mind and health," explains Dr. Ed Marut, Fertility Centers of Illinois. Beth Heller and Tami Quinn, co-founders of Pulling Down the Moon, emphasize that what makes this particular program unique is that patients will be led in techniques specifically designed for infertility. Typical benefits of a mind/body program, as cited by patients, have been:
