He is board certified in both OB/GYN and Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility.

Dr. Hickman is a Fellow of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists and is currently the young physician delegate to the American Medical Association for the American Society for Reproductive Medicine, alternate delegate to the American Medical Association House of Delegates, and is the former American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists Delegate to the American Medical Associate-Resident Fellow Section.

He is the author of articles on in vitro fertilization, endometriosis, uterine fibroids, and ovulation disorders and has shared his data at national and international medical conferences held on these subjects.

Houston IVF uses EmbryoGlue(r) with each embryo transfer. EmbryoGlue(r) is an implantation promoting medium for transfer of embryos back into the woman, with physical properties more similar to the uterine secretion, and will therefore assist the embryo during the implantation process. Houston IVF's pregnancy rates rank with the highest in the country. EmbryoGlue(r) has been used with every embryo transfer since Houston IVF started offering IVF services to women in 2002.
